Logic??
I knew I was still tired when I woke and my first thought was: "Maybe I can slip in a nap this afternoon." From our spot in the forest we rode back to Kampen. The market was just getting underway. We bought bread, tomato and cucumber. Grilled chicken was on special. Canada flags waved outside a hardware store. A sale sign read: We've gone Canadian! We cycled back across the bridge to our favourite scenic spot and enjoyed brunch in the hot sunshine.
A wedding couple, in a white coach drawn by two midnight black horses, came to take wedding pictures. We weren't the only ones who liked the view.
After brunch we headed to Zwolle. We thought we would be along the IJssel River, but we were beside the busy road instead. In Zwolle we looked through a huge bike shop. There were expensive clothes and accessories. I saw a pair of shorts for $165.
We needed water. I pulled into a store's parking lot that turned out to be a camp store. They had camprests for only double the price we had paid in North America. They had Coleman stoves and fuel too -- the first we had seen in Europe.
Thunder pealed in the distance. I bought waterproof spray to coat my rain pants that no longer kept the rain at bay. I endured another lecture from Sharon on how I could have bought a new pair of rain pants with all the money I had wasted buying ineffective waterproof spray.
"But this stuff's made in Holland," I whined.
"You have no logic," she said.
I finished spraying my pants as the first few patters of rain fell. I smiled.
