Before the devastating forest fires that swept the area in the summer of 2003, eighteen train trestles of varying styles used to cross Myra Canyon on the old KVR above Kelowna BC. Each trestle had been expertly decked and equipped with handrails that allowed safe crossing for cycle tourists. Still, curt signs at the beginning of each trestle advised cyclists to dismount and walk their bikes... it's a long way to the bottom of the canyon. |
