Similkameen Placer Miner

A few miles upstream,
From the town of Princeton,
A mining enthusiast,
Started his dream,
A bulldozer and backhoe,
Were bought, and a sluice box,
Set up,
With a bright cheery smile,
Gunner turned to his friends,
And with a gleam in his eye,
Said, I will be here for a while.
The summer's work began,
Rocks and gravel in the river,
Began to unfold,
Gunner is a hard working man,
After a day,
Of giving his best,
The sluice box is cleaned,
And what should appear?
Awesome nuggets of gold,
Things are looking mighty fine,
Says Gunner, I believe I'll make 'er pay.
Hard work is done,
From daylight, for many hours,
Till the setting of the sun,
Work doesn't stop until ice appears,
On the river's shore,
The equipment is winterized,
Gunner gathers his crew,
And says, we've found a lot of gold,
Had a lot of fun,
It's been an interesting summer,
We couldn't of asked for more.
