July 8 Friday Bicycle touring from Camrose Alberta - Daysland Alberta
Lots of the fields are in bloom with yellow canola. They sure look great. I see an old building in the middle of a sea of yellow and stop to take a picture. The road leads through Bawlf and the grain elevator there looks as if the road goes right into the elevator. It certainly seems that all roads in Alberta lead to a grain elevator.
Daysland is straight east from Camrose on lucky Hwy 13. We head there; planning to stay with Susan's brother, Brian, and his family. Brian is a dentist in Daysland. The population is a whopping 700. Brian and his wife, Bev, have three kids. David is in Grade 4; Kenny in Grade 2; and Barb, the baby, hasn't started school yet. They have the second biggest house in town. Only the contractor's is bigger. We stay overnight and are treated to BBQ steaks for supper and then waffles in the morning.
Both Sharon and my new chains are skipping on our old clusters. Vicky, another longtime cycling buddy, arrives after work with new clusters and to cycle with us for the weekend.
